2.0 REMOVING THE BEARING CARTRIDGE AND GREASING
The bearing cartridge can be easily removed from the housing tube for routine maintenance (e.g., cleaning and greasing the bearings) and extraordinary maintenance (e.g., replacing worn bearings if necessary).
To prevent oxidation of the parts and facilitate cartridge removal and insertion over time, lubricate both the outside of the cartridge and the inside of the housing tube with SILICONE GREASE .
DO NOT get grease on the outside of the housing tube or on the top surfaces.
This step is mandatory.

2.2 GREASE THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE AND THE INSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE HOUSING TUBE.
1st Take the silicone grease and, using your fingers, grease the inner surface of the housing tube, taking care to grease especially the bottom and the tube’s joining sides.
This operation is very important to prevent the water contained in the concrete from entering the cartridge, and it will also facilitate removal of the bearing cartridge for maintenance operations.
CAUTION: DO NOT GREASE THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE HOUSING TUBE.
2° Using silicone grease, also grease the outer surface of the cartridge.

3.0 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE IN THE FLOOR
2° Read and carefully follow the instructions at every step.
3° Before installation, make sure the characteristics of the floor/slab are compatible with the installation method.
4° Before installation, make sure there are no plumbing, heating, or electrical lines beneath the installation point.
5° Carry out the work carefully, using high-quality materials and equipment.
6° In all cases, refer to the technical specifications of the product used for fixing (resin or other).
For installations on stages, in iron structures, or in gardens, contact the technical department support@thepole.it
3.1 DRILLING THE FLOOR
The depth of the hole depends on the desired final installation effect.
IMPORTANT! If the thickness of the poured floor is less than the depth of the hole, it is ESSENTIAL to stabilize the underlying gravel layer by pouring epoxy resin or cement into it, in order to obtain a SOLID SUPPORT BASE and a ROBUST, consistent PERIMETER along the entire depth.
Follow section 3.1.1 for installing the cartridge flush with the floor.
Follow section 3.1.2 for installing the cartridge with the construction of a cap.

3.1.1 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE FLUSH WITH THE FLOOR:
Drill the hole at the selected location using a diamond core bit or core drill with a diameter of 100 mm (4 inches = 101 mm).
The hole must be 125–130 mm deep.
It is assumed that the floor is perfectly level and that the finished hole is perpendicular to it.
The overall height of the assembled tube is 121 mm.
REMEMBER:
Loose and unstable gravel base: DO NOT PROCEED without stabilizing it!
Base well stabilized with resin or cement: PROCEED with the following steps.

3.1.2 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CAP
Drill the hole at the selected location using a diamond core bit or core drill with a diameter of 100 mm (4 inches = 10 mm).
The overall height of the assembled tube is 121 mm.
The hole must be 125–130 mm deep plus the thickness of the cap (calculate carefully).
The cap must have the same diameter as the hole and will hide the cartridge from view and prevent tripping when the equipment is not in use.
It is assumed that the floor is perfectly level and that the finished hole is perpendicular to it.

REMEMBER:
Loose and unstable gravel base: DO NOT PROCEED without stabilizing it!
Base well stabilized with resin or cement: PROCEED with the following steps.

4.0 INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE
Before installation, make sure that the contents of the cartridge/bottle/bag are sufficient to complete the work.
If the previous steps have been carried out correctly, the volume to be filled is approximately 400 ml.
ALSO CONSIDER THE CURING TIME OF THE SELECTED PRODUCT and the maximum recommended pouring thicknesses specified by the manufacturer, and adjust the management of the subsequent stages accordingly, if necessary.
DURING INSTALLATION:
The hole in the floor must be clean and free of dust to maximize the resin's adhesion.
To prevent accidental resin infiltration into the system from irreversibly damaging it, completely cover the upper side of the tube and cartridge with paper tape, first ensuring that there are no traces of grease or dirt that could limit or prevent the tape from adhering effectively.
The lower end of the tube is already sealed and does not require any work.

4.2 INSERT THE HOUSING TUBE INTO THE HOLE
This operation is very important: if the cartridge is cemented at an angle, it will no longer be possible to remove it and straighten it.
The housing tube must be installed perfectly straight; otherwise, the pole will not rotate properly and installation problems will occur. Check that it is straight in all directions.
Level the bottom of the hole with a small amount of product (4–9 mm) and insert the cartridge into the hole: this step is IMPORTANT to ensure a solid and even support for the cartridge; the layer thickness must be calibrated so that the upper end of the cartridge is in the desired position. It may be useful to place some small rigid spacers under the base to prevent it from sinking and keep the cartridge at the desired level.

4.3 FILL THE LOWER HALF OF THE HOLE WITH ANCHORING RESIN
Fill the lower half of the hole with resin.
Place the supplied square tube on the upper side of the cartridge and use it as a support for the level.
Check the system’s perfect levelness in several positions, stabilizing or correcting its position with the four supplied plastic wedges.
If possible, it is recommended to wait for the product to harden.

4.4 REMOVE THE WEDGES AND FILL THE REMAINING VOLUME
Remove the wedges and fill the remaining volume with product, reaching the desired height.
Level and finish the pour if necessary.
Wait for the resin to harden COMPLETELY before removing the tape and using the equipment.

5.0 INSERTING THE HOUSING TUBE’S BEARING CARTRIDGE
2nd Hold the bearing cartridge by the M5 screws and insert it into the housing tube, positioning it correctly by aligning the holes.
3rd When the holes line up, unscrew the M5 screws and remove them completely.

5.2 TIGHTEN THE CLAMPING SCREWS

THE CARTRIDGE IS INSTALLED AND THE POLE CAN BE INSERTED
6.0 MAINTENANCE
Palo GeckoGrip: simply use alcohol (preferably isopropyl alcohol) on a microfiber cloth.
Stainless steel pole: water and ammonia (5%) on a microfiber cloth.
Ultragrip2 Pole: MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) on a lint-free cotton cloth
During cleaning, use personal protective equipment; airing out the room after cleaning the pole is recommended.
6.2 Bearing lubrication
The operation can be carried out independently (request the video instructions from office@brasiliamoda.com).
The frequency of this maintenance depends on how often the product is used and how clean the room is. If there are no particular requirements, for occasional use, we recommend carrying it out once a year. For more intensive use, please contact our Technical Support Service.
